Preparing your Doe for Breeding.

Here are some checklist in preparing your Doe for Breeding.

1. AGE

- as we all know, a doe matures sexually at 4mos of age, but is not advisable to breed at such young age. The typical or recommended age is at 5 to 6mos old.

2. WEIGHT

- Health of the doe is also big factor to consider before breeding. Rule of the thumb is the doe has reached at least 80% to 85% max of the average breed weight. Example NZ, at least at a weight of 3.2kg to 3.4kg. If it lacks the weight then "maghintay ka muna". Dont be so atat in breeding your doe especially if its a first timer. Ano na lang ba yung antayin mo tumaba pa ng konti. (kaya ko ito english-sin kaso baka sabihin kinopya ko lang kung aaan saan , base po ito sa experience ng DK Conejo Mini Rabbitry).

If weight is higher than 85% you might want to have your doe on a diet. Stop the pellets give more grass or hay if available. Bakit kamo? Mas mataba mataas ang chance na mas maliit ang bilang ng aanakin (hindi lahat parepareho - mas maganda na yung may sinusundan kaysa naman yung bira lang ng bira)

3. TIMING

-some breeders will mate or stud their doe anytime they want. But the recommended time would be during 5am at day time and 8pm at night time. Bakit? Mas aktibo po sila sa mga oras ba ito.

Also, itaon mo na medyo nanlilibog si doe(sorry for my word but for me thats the best word to describe it). Paano? Kung ang pwerta ni doe at kulay pula or kulay lila. Bakit? Kasi receptive si doe, tutuwad agad agad yan at kung baguhan or 1st timer si buck mas ito ang pinaka best na panahon para isabak siya.

4. WEATHER

- as we all know, during high humidity medyo malabnaw ang semilya o modta ni buck at maaring mag false pregnancy. Ang pinaka best na panahon para ibreed/mate/stud si doe ng walang pag aalala ng false pregnancy ia during rainy or low climate temp. July-Feb.

Walang pumipigil sayo para magbreed, ika nga try and try until it is pregnant..

5. CONDITIONING

-karamihan nagbibigay ng vitamins sa doe during or at 4 mos of age until 2 weeks. Then isasalang na once nag 5mos na. Bakit? Mas malusog si doe mas mataas posibilidad na mas madami ang iaanak nito.
